Per Hard Core: USAF aircraft operating from Hahn have included the F-86s, F-100s, F-102s, F-4s, and F-16s. I was in the 50th TFW from Jan 1970 - Jul 1973 (10th TFS and 496th TFS, IP, FE, Wing Weapons) and Jul 1978 - Jul 1980. (496TFS, CC). When I arrived in Jan 1970, there were three fighter squadrons at Hahn: 10th TFS, flying F-4Ds, 81st TFS, flying F-4C (WW), and 496th TFS, flying F-102s. Details of each squadron at Hahn are listed below. Overall, F4’s were at Hahn for 16 years, F16’s for 11 years, and 4 separate fighter squadrons, with different missions at various times. I know of four reunion rosters for Hahn (there may be more). See Hahn Squadron Reunion's below.
The 81st TFS (WW) arrived at Hahn with F-4’s about 1966. In June 1971 it was redeployed to Zweibruchen. In mid 1973 it redeployed to Spangdahlem,
The 10th TFS converted from F-100’s to F-4’s (Strike/Attack) about 1966, and converted to F-16’s about mid 1982.
The 496th TFS deployed to Hahn in 1956 flying F-86’s, converting to F-102’s (Air Defense) in 1959. It converted to F-4E’s in April 1970, with an Air Superiority and Attack mission and assumed a Strike/Attack mission in the mid 1970’s. It converted to F-16’s about mid 1982.
No details known about this reunion.
10th TFS from very late 60’s to about mid 1970. It is about 90% 10th TFS, with a few 496th guys and a couple of 81st TFS guys. POC's are Alford Les, Glen Clark, and Frank Romaglia.
